Navy Vet With Weapon Gets Shot And Killed
Has anyone heard about this or seen the video? A Navy veteran who was trying to stop a fight in Portland was shot and killed by campus police after his weapon fell from it's holster as he was trying to stop a fight outside a bar the other night. I saw this video on TV this morning and was struck by the type of "holster" he was using. It looked to me like the weapon was not actually holstered, but retained by some sort of clip that was holding it to the outside of his pocket on his shorts as the gun was clearly visible and it fell to the ground during the struggle. He attempted to retrieve the weapon to secure it and was then shot by the cops. Is there something I am missing here?
Relationships between men and women can be difficult - but not impossible.

Have not seen or heard of it. Have you got a link?
I have belt clips on both of my Kel-Tec pistols. I find them to be very handy, although they have obvious limitations on their ability to retain the pistol in place.

I don't know what I would do if my pistol fell out of my waistband while trying to break up a fight outside a bar. (I probably would not be trying to break up a fight outside a bar.)
Reaching for a gun in front of a responding cop, is a recipe for disaster IMHO.
What does his veteran status have to do with the story?

It does look like the firearm is hanging on the outside of his pocket.

Re: Navy Vet With Weapon Gets Shot And Killed
I've posted this before. Christmas dinner at in-laws. Bent over to pet the dog, KelTec "secured" by clip falls to the tile floor. Never used that clip again. My clip is different than the one pictured. Its base is all the way back near the "hammer". Lets the gun ride lower and would seem to be less likely to tumble. Not so.

Back story might reveal the decedent was emotionally involved and that's the reason he acted as he did.
