Default Setback for the gun banning whackos in Oregon

Recently an initiative got put on the ballot in the state of Oregon to ban “assault rifles” and high capacity magazines. The Portland-area clergy were the ones who made it happen as they collected the 88,184 signatures necessary to get it on the November ballot. However the Oregon Supreme Court ruled that the language was too vague in the summary of the initiative and ordered it changed.

There has been a new draft of the initiative made up however they have until July 6 to regather the required 88,184 signatures. It might be doable with the gun control fanatics in a panic. If they don’t get the required amount this time they will be back for the next election.

These gun banning initiatives are dangerous because if it’s successful in one state they are taking this tactic to other states. As we know in Pennsylvania, a lot of gun owners are too lazy to vote.

Never miss a vote, I hear you and agree. The candidates are often so vague and easy to flip the other way - hard to trust anyone.

Fortunately for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, voter initiatives (a/k/a mob rule) are not legal for getting on a ballot. Don't know if it's good or bad, but we can't have recall petitions, either.

With David Hogg and his band of gun control idiots on the loose I'm glad we don't. As I mentioned in the original post, PA gun owners not only voting, but voting for the right candidate isn't a guarantee.

Don't forget the population becoming more New York and New Jersey influenced. I vote every election and try to get others to the polls, but it's feeling like more of an uphill battle every couple of years.
