    I'll play.

Mine is a stainless Dan Wesson Valor VBOB Commander, easily the best 1911 this 1911 fan has owned. With a consistent 4.2 lb trigger pull and a slide to frame fit that feels like ball bearings, this is a ORH accurate pistol at distances out to 15 yds. BORINGLY accurate and reliable. Everyone who has fired it has been able to hit with it.

Gotta go with the S&W 686 also, it's a tank in a Maserati body. No kids but 12 nieces and nephews, most of them will receive a nice pistol/rifle combo upon my demise.

My S&W 686, which is a good combination of a target gun and a "shoot the bad guy" gun. I know it's not for carry since mine has a 6" barrel and it weighs a lot. It shoots both .357 and .38. I bought it 21 years ago, and shoot it often.

That's easy. Ruger GP-100 w/4" barrel in .357. Built like a tank so it should last forever. And ammo is easy to come by or make.
