Will LCP II mags work in an LCP and help it lock back? Anyone have both models and can test?

The slide lock lever on the II has a little prong that protrudes into the mag well near the feed ramp. The follower on the new mags catches it to engage the slide lock. The classic LCP will not lock back automatically with either mag.
