How expired was it? Pa law allows 6 months beyond as an exception:

Pa 18 C.S. 6106 (2) (b) (12) : A person who has a lawfully issued license to carry a firearm pursuant to section 6109 (relating to licenses) and that said license expired within six months prior to the date of arrest and that the individual is otherwise eligible for renewal of the license.

Did this person consider making a complaint through Phila PD's internal affairs?

Give Phil Kline a call he is a gentleman and a scholar.

If something can be done he will know.

As has been repeated ad nauseam, this is the not so new normal.
Liberal Democrat municipalities will continue to harass and falsely arrest law abiding gun owners until the laws are changed and they are made to pay for it.

Philly is just following the example set by NJ and NY where they routinely falsely arrest active and retired LEO's carrying lawfully under LEOSA.
If they can do it to active LEO's then what chance does the average Joe have against this kind of blatant harassment.

The Second Amendment is a Civil Right.
Liberal Democrat municipalities need to be made to pay for routinely violating the Civil Rights of law abiding citizens.

Aside from the need for an LTCF to open carry in a first class city, no, they are not. Philadelphia still must comply with all state C.S. Law, LTCF requirements, and firearms pre-emption, regardless of how special they think they are, and what they want you to believe!

    No.

    They are not.

But lawbreaking city employees have been allowed to keep ignoring the laws because awful politicians let them.

Still, they probably should have run his info through the system and once verified, let him go on his way...
Absolutely agree that Phil is worth of serious consideration.

On the other hand, if the strategy you suggested is the one preferred by the affected party, he probably shouldn't bother calling Phil, because that's not his style (and I'm not suggesting that fact is on the "con" side of the comparison list).

What are you expecting a lawyer to do?

Make them say "I'm sorry, our officers need more training. We let him go so what is the problem?"
