So it took 12 years to get it passed. The first time I heard of congress seriously considering the Universal background check bill was right after Sandy Hook in December of 2012. I guess we will see what happens on this legislation when 2024 gets here.
I am glad that I am the age I am now. In not too many years I could be in a home and that will be that. So sad for what our younger shooter friends will have to put up with all this stuff that is coming down the pike. It really floored me when Vermont went with gun control, I never though that could happen. No matter what we do I think the writing is on the wall as too many people do not care about the Constitution, let alone the 2nd Amendment.

I saw that article too. However I remember Bob casey saying similar stuff when he was campaigning. He did a complete 360 after Sandy Hook. I guess will have to wait to see what he does if an anti gun bill hits the floor. Another reason I am concerned is gun control is a part of the Democrat party platform. So that means even if he isn't that anti gun I sure they will twist his arm to get him to flip his position.

Either that or the 2nd Amendment will be stronger than ever.

Well and I guess many liberals and peacenics think the same thing! There is a flood of Liberals coming from the West Coast. Mostly settling in around SLC and the ski resorts. You know the types, dread locks, baggy clothes, pot leaf clothing, tie dyed shirts, knit hats in Summer, believe "Yo Bro, Chill" will get them out of any dangerous interaction.

I heard locals complaining about these groups trying to change the laws to be more California like. MANY businesses in SLC now sport "No Guns" signs.

    So am I surprised? Nope
    Am I saddened? Yep
'Scuse me while I fit my tinfoil... ok, good now.

Anyway; have seen multiple posts across the Intertoobs of the libtards "infiltrating" otherwise conservative areas in the effort to tip the balance in future elections. And its easy to do. Conservative areas are usually NICER than libtardian shitholes like LA, SF, DC, NYC, Yinzburgh, et al. So moving into a NICER area is a huge bonus for the left. Now they can find jobs, get a pay-raise simply from lower taxes, breathe easier that they wont get mugged taking out the garbage from one of the Free-Shit Army types they have as neighbors, etc.

Once they get enough like-minded libs around, then they can slowly shit-up the place like they do everywhere. Everyone likes free shit, so finding volunteers to enlist in their Free-Shit Army is easy. And with the libtardian lifestyles comes the libtardian politics of blame the object and not the villain.

The wave of sentiment sweeping the nation of "if only we can keep nut-fucks away from guns, none of this would have happened and we will be safe".. so at the first sign of nuttiness - you lose the 2A. With more areas buying into that thinking, the more we can lose. Order red wine with fish = No Ruger FOR YOU!

It's ironic that on the early morning of November 9 2016 when Trump was declared the winner, numerous threads were created on this website declaring how we would have national concealed carry reciprocity, be able to buy sound suppressors and machine guns over the counter because the NFA act along with the Hughes amendment would be repealed and overall we would be living in a gun owners paradise by now. Now we are back to fighting to keep what we got.

While we didn't get either the Hearing Protection Act or national reprocity at lease we don't have a new justice appointment by Hillary and the laws her Congress would have passed.

The thing going on behind our backs is foreign billionaires dumping millions into politicians pockets to disarm Americans. Cant install socialism when the proles are armed but you can do it when they've all become criminals.

For those of us who can't understand how billionaires can afford to throw around millions of dollars, I'd like to put this into perspective.

    1 million seconds = almost 12 days.
    1 billion seconds = 31.7 years.
