Dude was convicted and Sentenced to 486 days IN FEB 2017.

He owned all of these prior to then, unless you think he just got out and bought a 500 firearm arsenal the next day.

Also, records searches come up with an unspecified Felony...

I saw in another article the guy was over 60 and wasn't a felon until 2017. I'd assume he was a collector that had all of this stuff before committing his special crime.

I love it how the unwashed and uninformed media types think that owning a lot of weapons makes a person even more dangerous when the reality is that most arsenals are essentially paperweights and a storage problem. I mean Deadpool can handle two Desert Eagles at the same time, but thats how movie magic works.

The argument regarding the right or wrong of firearms ownership/possession aside, The charges filed against him seem to be state charges. HAs anyone heard of the Feds bringing charges under GCA '68?

Seems to have a little bit of everything. Couple dozen AR uppers, a Mauser pistol as well as a bunch of old milsurp stuff. Deer rifles, shotguns, modern pistols. I'm jelly, but I feel safer now.

Looks like he had a lot of military surplus. Once I had a lot of guns, but never that many.

Bank robbery or something else? The media report merely kept reporting he was a convicted felon. I can't say either way if I think he shouldn't have been turned in, but incomplete news stories tend to turn out to be less than what was reported.
All I can say is California has a database of who owns what he should have lost this stuff in a boating accident at the time of his conviction.

    Arsenal? I don't see a single cannon.

That photo is now in my cell phone. Next time an anti asks how many guns I have, it'll be put to good use.
