    First off: sad about the guy's collection being confiscated and likely destroyed. At 60 he wasn't a threat to society at large as proven by how long it took to amass the collection and its size. None of those guns were being used in criminal activity. Sad in a way, because it makes one wonder what the dude was convicted of? Pot possession in California? Too many unpaid parking tickets? Bank robbery or something else? The media report merely kept reporting he was a convicted felon. I can't say either way if I think he shouldn't have been turned in, but incomplete news stories tend to turn out to be less than what was reported.
