But wouldn't law abiding gun owners of NJ just turn their mags in?

in northern? yup...or they'd melt them, or smash them with a hammer. Central? they might try to sell them or trade them.

there's no definitive descriptor, but I consider north of 78 to be north, south of 195 to be south, and everything in between to be central.

People in Point/Brick exit 98 off GSP to be South Jersey down and being there are a lot of gun owners there as well as ranges and shops I would consider it a more pro gen area.

I always think about Kohlberg levels of moral development in cases like this. In his highest level (post conventional), morals are based on abstract reasoning. Laws are only valid if they are grounded in justice. If they are not grounded in justice, there is an obligation to disobey unjust laws.

I see law abiding gun owners not turning their mags in as realizing that these are laws not grounded in justice and they are following the highest level of moral reasoning.
