Not that I hunt, or plan to, but I took mine on line last year, only forty bucks or something like that. Didn't think I would, but I learned a lot. The on line course is definitely the way to go - you do it at your own pace, stop, come back later, the next day, whatever.

I just found my old hunter's safety card. I won't say what year it's from but I think it says "Good in all 13 Colonies" on the back.

Got my first Junior hunting license in 1975. They didn't require any safety course back then , but you had to hunt with a licensed adult. Still have most of my licenses since then. IIRC , all they ask is for a license from a previous year.

I plead guilty (I should of come to this forum and read up on this issue on obtaining a hunter’s safety education card before buying a hunting license or just bought a shooting range permit!!?) and will be paying the fine in full. I have to pay about $250 for the “unlawfully obtaining a hunting license without having the hunters ed card!?”

Now the question...Should I be worried about my LTCF being affected at renewal because of this summons offense?
??? Hunter Safety Course shows up on you license? That's news to me. I never took one. I assumed just having a previous license was proof that you took it. I may have taken one 50 years ago or so. In New York state.

He said “you don’t have one then this means you illegally/unlawfully obtained this hunting license!” I wanted to say you’re nuts and I’m no longer going to speak to you without my lawyer present but instead I handed it over and he took it asked me to stay put, came back with a little yellow card that had license number and a confiscated property number and said he wasn’t going to fine me for shooting more than three rounds at a time and said I would get a summons in the mail.

Three months later a constable shows up at my door with a warrant and I work out in Berks, I said for what and he had to call back and say for an unlawful possession of a hunting license/fur taker license. I said crap and So he faxed me a form (which I signed “guilty”) and tomorrow I will pay it in full.

But still I feel violated and just want this behind me. As GunLawyer001 stated. 5 years and expunge it and hoping to try to get SPONSORSHIP into a local gun club (please please and thank you) and forget the SGL shooting ranges. Just less BS to deal with. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ASSISTED WITH MY QUESTION.
When did this happen? There's no three round limit. It's 6 now.

I took the course in 1965, the year BEFORE it became mandatory for all Juniors...still have the card.

BTW you need to get a new card with a number on it for any western state hunts, they won't take the hand written cards

Yes, but now instead of opinions, you have the statute in the thread. Always go to the statute.

May or may not apply, but I am surprised it has not been brought up.
