    Default New Deathwish movie

I rented this movie and liked it especially the AC/DC section as the music just fit - there were some gory parts in this movie.

Shortcomings - father-in-law shoots at poachers and 3rd shot of shotgun somehow didn't need him to rack it, Bruce shoots and no recoil?? and another - loading a mag has fmj then hollow point and then fmj ? Where are the people who know something about firearms for these movies ??? sheeesh....

Overall, although i like Bruce Willis and his calm demeanor, but i still rate the original with Charles Bronson better overall. (and i can't say Charles was much of an actor but the others were great in it) Edit - thinking about Charles, I did watch a lot of his movies - guess i did like him (-:

It was ok, because I like that genre. However it can't compare to the original with CB.
I felt the same about the Mechanic with Jason Stratham.

I just watched the biography of Charles Bronson. He made 14 movies with his wife Jill Ireland. He began his working career as a coal miner but he developed claustrophobia and had to find another way of making a living. Remakes are rarely as good as the originals.

That's ironic, seeing how CB was the one digging the tunnel in The Great Escape, and developed claustrophobia in the movie as well.

CB was perfect in the original death wish, and although I haven't seen the new one, I'm burned out on new movies with no originality. Every movie these days is a remake, a story from a book, a comic book, a remake of a comic book movie, etc. It's pretty rare when a rehashed movie comes out and I enjoy it enough to watch it more than once.

I went and saw it only because I had a gift card. It was....passable, shall we say. I'm glad I didn't pay for it although it did give me something to do on an otherwise boring Saturday night. But if you're hoping to see the equivalent of Bronson shooting The Giggler in the back with a Wildey, you'll be disappointed.

Didn't know they did a remake of Mechanic...that would be tough to beat.

How about "The Evil Men Do"? Ever remade?

If you watch the Grit channel, you'll see Bronson pop up in a lot of roles as a mexican.

....not that I'm aware of but I wouldn't mind a remake of Hard Times.
