Several shooters have mentioned how they want to achieve a new "High Score"

They lust after a few days of fame on TV that they do not have compassion for those they injure.

I also believe they use modern sporting rifles aka "Assault Rifles" because it will get them so much more press then a shotgun or bomb will
Look at the last shooting.. as soon as the press heard he used a revolver and a sawed off shotgun they ran after the next anti-Trump story
