st8shooter, I was lucky since there were only two other vintage Mod 29 smiths(Nickel guns) at the show and while I was doing the paperwork a guy who saw the gun earlyer came back for it.

    It was a great score,

Does he have a shop or just a presence at gun shows?

ArmyVet, I'm not sure since I've only seen him at Oaks.

Looks awesome! I had a 29-2 in 8 3/8” and sold it a very long time ago but I’ve always wanted a 4”.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Kobsw: I'm pleased you like your new toy. I have the same revolver in a Model 25-5 in .45 Colt. I love those 4 inch N frames. Thanks for the positive feedback.

ScotsGuards, It's my first N frame but I know for sure it's not my last. I've got holes in my collection for a Model 27 and 28. Oh, and I do admire the Model 25 as well. I always liked those big cowboy rounds.

See you at the next show,

I had a 6" 29-2 but I sold it back in the early 90's. I still kick myself for selling it but I keep saying I'll get another one in 4". That's a really nice one too! I hope you enjoy the heck out it, they don't come along in that condition very often and when they do the price is through the roof. I used to use the 240gr semi jacketed hp's but that was pretty much the standard load back then. If you wanted something different you had to hand load or use 44 special.

JennG, thanks and yeah I'm going give some 44 special a go instead of SD .44 Mag loads.

Hey, be sure to get yourself out to some of these shows and I'm sure you'll find something. Do it fast because nice examples of these guns will be going the way of Colt snake guns.

    Best regards,
