New Member: Moving to PA from TX
As far as gun rules and regs, what do I need to know? What should I leave in the safes here in Texas? I’ll be living in Beaver County.
Thanks y’all.

no real M203 rounds or hand grenades unless you have a blasting permit.

Re: New Member: Moving to PA from TX
Sounds good then. I’ve been doing a little research here and there but needed to ask real people to be sure. I’ll be there in July...I think.
Any good ranges in the state that will allow me to stretch out some shots?

Feel free to join us at the group shoot in June!

As far as regulations go, here are a couple of key highlights...
1) Carry: I would STRONGLY recommend getting your LTCF (License to Carry Firearms) ASAP, even if you don't plan on carrying. PA requires you to go directly to and from a certain number of approved places (range, home, etc.) when transporting a handgun (among other guns, but typically NOT including non NFA rifles or shotguns) by anything but foot, unless you have a license to carry firearms. This is why it's a good idea to get one.
2) You cannot have a loaded non short barreled long gun in your vehicle.
3) All handgun transfers go through an FFL. Feel free to buy and sell long guns face to face.
There are other PA laws that you should research, but those are some highlights.
Welcome to PA!

Re: New Member: Moving to PA from TX
I have my LTC in Texas but I don’t know what that gets me up there. I know there’s reciprocity between the two states but that may be just for travelers and other transient folks. I’ll dig into it and take necessary action because I like to carry when I can.

Join Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol. If you can tow it through the gate, you can shoot it.

Also, you'll find the less restrictive carry laws refreshing. What to leave in the safe? Hahaha that's funny.Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.
