Default Transporting Loaded Magazines Cross Country?

my wife has her PA/FL and i only have a FL license. we will be traveling out west in our van. in states where applicable we will conceal carry. ill be keeping whatever rifles i decide to bring in a locked case and then the ammo with be in a separate case/container. my question is, can magazines be loaded and stored in a separate container along with the rest of the ammunition separate from the guns or do the magazines have to be empty?

ive tried researching this but keep keep older threads with dated information.

I don't know about FOPA, but I certainly wouldn't take loaded mags through hostile states, or in any state where I wasn't 100% sure about the state law. You probably just need to start researching each state individually.

And remember - being right doesn't necessarily keep you from getting arrested.

i'm with you. i guess its best to play it safe and keep everything separate. guns in one case, ammo in another and magazines in a 3rd.

From the looks of things sooner or later you won't be able to leave your house without being arrested.

You might want to check on ammo also. There might be another state out there like NJ.

Other states may prohibit mags over 5-10-15-20 rounds , HP ammo , , etc. Mere possession , even unloaded could be a serious crime. And a loaded mag?!?!?

Some states do not have preemption and localities may have ordinances against such things.
