Although it doesn't have a external safety, when it comes to a double single , I am partial to the H&K P30.

Meaning, just buy a $500.00 chassis, and then spend another $1,100.00 remaking it to your liking.
I have to applaud your thought process. I've actually been there, done that, and with excellent results. I combined a factory M&P9, Wilson Combat barrel, TruGlo TFO sights, Apex competition trigger/action kit, talon grips, and Taylor Freelance +10 mag extensions. It's an awesome combination that was fun to build. At this point I already have a few other builds in progress, so I'm looking for a turn-key factory solution this time.

    That build sounds sweet!
But yeah, I hear you on the turn-key, sometimes you just want something ready to go.

    The P30S has the safety

OP: The only thing that i would get with the title's criteria is a USP or USPc. I prefer the compact.
Now less Glock, more H&K :)

USP is fine for a "battle pistol", where reliability is king, it certainly doesn't deliver on shooting experience, unless mushy, vague triggers are your thing.

I still like my USP for what it is, but it doesn't hold a candle to my bone stock CZ. I'd echo the recommendations of looking at the Tanfoglios as well, there's some good value in their tuned versions.

I tried to like a HK USP Tactical .45 twice! It came with the "upgraded" Match trigger, taller sights and threaded barrel set up for a Can. It has been my only polymer gun ever. I had two at different times, and sold them both for the reasons you state. I bought a CZ-97B to replace it, and it was great right out of the box.

You are correct. I forgot about the P30s with the safety level on the side. I have the one with the slider switch decocker on the rear of the gun next to the hammer.

Looks pretty sweet. I wonder where I could handle one . . .
