Haven't seen our borough's constable at our voting station for years, not that we really need one. We've got 167 registered voters and 47 ballots were cast yesterday.

I stuck my stcker n my holster on way out the door but it was too dark for anyone to see me carrying.last time no one asked though.
lotta ppl outside asking if I am registered dem. was funny since I was OC.
guess they're trying to push specific candidate hard.

I told them I would get the statute for them, but they were adamant that I was wrong and nothing I could do would sway them. They claimed Montgomery county set the rules and would not listen to me about preemption. They were stuck in their ways.

if they were so sure they were right, they must be at a loss as to why you were not arrested.

They didn't know diddly squat. They just wanted you to think they do.

When the election committee told them I was right, the gentleman who claimed to have written the law wouldn't look me in the eyes. I am assuming that he thought because he was such older than me, probably in his 70s while I am mid twenties, there was no way I was correct. Well jokes on him.

Unfortunately my polling place is my local K-5 school in Montco, and only the main hall is used for polling, so not a good idea to OC. Dave_n

I'm writing a letter to my county's board of elections asking why no constable was on duty at the polling place this time, or the time before that, or the time before that (like, with 167 registered voters we really get concerned about maintaining the peace?).

Hopefully he didn't ask to get paid for work he didn't perform.

Perhaps you should run for Constable. Get qualified to carry firearms and you are covered under LEOSA. Then you can work the boring Polls. Been there done that!

The local constable(s) in the voting precinct(s) in his district don't need to be at the polling station at all times. They just need to be available at all times the polls are open. Our constable covers 7 polling stations in our community and he ranges between them at various times of the day. He just checks in to be sure all is going well. It always has been.
