    Default Home Protection Firearm

I know everyone has a favorite firearm that they trust to protect their family and home. I recently thought about replacing the shotgun and handgun with something else. What do you think about a suppressed MP5 type firearm? I'm thinking it's almost the perfect home protection firearm anyone could ask for. Compact and easily maneuverable. Won't blind you with a large muzzle blast like the shotgun. Follow up shots will be easier than the shotgun. I will have 30 rounds available instead of 15 or less if I use a pistol. The suppressor will be better for everyone in the house. Knowing that it won't silence the 9mm, but it will make my ears ring less than anything unsuppressed.

    What do you think?

We’re not your wife. You don’t have to justify firearm purchases to us.

Haha. Nope, already own everything needed. Just looking for opinions.

BTW, I've got the best wife in the entire world, for many reasons. The wife has never said no to any purchase. Even when I came home with 5 Garands from an estate sale. We enjoy our firearms. As a matter of fact, her AR15 is the most expensive one we own.

Personally, I think a good handgun with a decent magazine capacity is the best way to go for home protection.
It allows for the greatest mobility in tight spaces, easy one handed operation, and is easily concealed in questionable encounters where showing the gun is counterproductive.
    Just my $0.02
