I disagree. People are born with instincts. Civilized society recognizes rights.

And as I have stated in the past, the 2nd A. has a subjective clause, ergo, militia = people.

Well it seems that "Civilized society" keeps trying to limit my ability to defend myself.

One cannot "recognize" something that does not pre-exist.

The part about the militia is more of an explanation as to why, not a requirement for the right. Take away militias, and you still retain the individual right. The second is an enumeration or recognition of the natural inclination or "instinct" to defend oneself. Even lowly insects do this. Some could say, "Even the lowliest of insects, man, should be allowed to do so!"

The US Constitution says I have a reason to own of these weapons and that's good enough for me. If you are in the business of depriving people their Constitutional rights and you have taken the oath to uphold the Constitution you are a traitor.
