I agree, I have bought a few guns from them , it all depends on what you are looking for .

Went there to buy a s&w shield and called that morn to confirm they still had some and still on sale. I didn’t ask for the name of the salesperson I talked to, which I should have. When I got there, after deciding to buy one they rang it up - at a higher price ! So I showed the ad and the guy said oh that group of sale guns were sold - this is a new batch - even though the sale date didn’t end for a week or two ! Manager also wouldn’t budge (asked who I spoke to) and since we drove so far to this store, we still bought it but wasn’t happy and haven’t given them business since.

Shopped at Grices many times as it is close to me. Fun to walk around and look. Their old ad used to say 10,000 guns on hand and they have expanded since. Most dealers in the area will match their price or do may be a little better. They do have the selection new and used with lots reloading supplies, cleaning equipment, safes, holsters, optics, clothes and ammo. I have bought a few guns there over the years. Bobs Army Navy in Clearfield is worth a visit to. No where near the selection of Grices but better service. You can get on the mailing lists at both places. Last two guns I purchased in Clearfield Bob's beat Grices. Nice thing is you can walk from one to the other and compare pricing. Bottom line is I like to look at Grices but choose to buy else where unless its a killer deal.

Only thing I do there is rummage through the used handgun magazine box about once a month.

If the shop price is reasonably close to Gunbroker prices, I'm going to make the local purchase. I'm also fortunate that my local shop has good prices and even gives good values on trades. It doesn't cost anything to browse Gunbroker. Setting up an account and being able to bit might cost something but I've never purchased from Gunbroker. Most of my internet purchases are done through Gun Auction or Grabagun where I usually get better prices than at most gun shops, even when you factor in the transfer fee.

There's a thing out there called the internet that one can use to compare prices. Telephone/cell phone technology shouldn't be overlooked for calling a gun shop and asking a price on a gun one is interested in. In my opinion one should consider the cost of gasoline if one is traveling to a distant gun shop or gun show for a deal.
To my recollection there was an Army and Navy store that had a good selection of guns near Grices one could use to compare prices.

Opening an account on GB is free, unless you bid... You need to be signed in to look at completed auctions.

I bought a s/w sd9ve there in sept (b-day present) Paid less than advertised price on several places. Got the gun, a rubber mat for cleaning, and a box of ammo, and something else, cant remember what, for less than the price i've seen before, or since
