Engraving question
Non trust engraving so just name and city and state. Is there any advantage to just using my initials instead of full first name on the firearm. Obviously it keeps it shorter, but do most of you guys use full name or initials. Going to laser worx tomorrow and want to get it right the first time!
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Engraving question
I haven't done it before but was looking into it a while ago. You need to be exact. It has to be what is on the form. Full first and last name, City and state.
You can use abbreviations for the state if you want.

Re: Engraving question
The form has to be filled out correctly, if it's not and they kick it back for some reason, like you used your nick name or a letter for your first, middle or last name or something, you may have a problem with the engraving when you correct the form. As long as the information is correct you shouldn't have a problem.

Re: Engraving question
Yeah form has been approved just waiting for stamp to arrive should be early next week. But had an appointment at laserworx today. I called the branch office to confirm full name and they said yes so I am good!

Re: Engraving question
You guys were right! Laser worx has me in and out in under 15 mins and the guys who run the shop were super nice and made me feel confident that they knew what they were doing. Will definitely go back for future NFA projects and recommend them to all!

Re: Engraving question
Nice! I’ve read of good things about laser worx but they’re a bit far for me. FYI my form 1 was approved and I did use my full name however on the box that has you write out your name as to be engraved, I used my middle initial and was approved(YMMV). I have a really long name so I tooka bit of a gamble on abbreviating my middle name I suppose.

Re: Engraving question
Yeah I was about 55 miles each way and they made the time worth it for me. Have local places closer, but with the amount of recommendations from other members here I said why not give it a shot!

Laserworx did a great job engraving my trust name along with my family's Coat of Arms:
