Default Walther PPK or Beretta Px4 Compact

I know I should get the Beretta Px4 because it is 9mm and has most of what I am looking for, but I really like that PPK. I am just trying to decide how much more I am going to spend in .380 ammo on the range and if it is worth it.

Pros on the Beretta: I like the size. I like hammer fire over striker fire. I like the easy take down for cleaning. It is compact. I do like the rotating barrel. 9mm is cheaper and everywhere. Like the safety system on it.

Pros on the Walther: Size, hammer over striker, blow back with the fixed barrel, more compact, safety is a lot like the beretta, great take down system-- hell, it is the James Bond pistol.

I don't have the funds to buy both-- am I just being silly wanting the Walther?

They are both reliable and shoot great-- but gonna need to practice regularly with whatever I get. I like to go to the range every or every other week when I am able. Deployed now.. so when i get home, I go about 3-4 times a week. So a couple boxes of ammo adds up.

Owned both ..sold the PPK/S years ago. Straight blowback nicked my hand a lot . Never really liked this pistol.

My PX4 Storm Compact is one of my daily carry guns . I also have a a PX4 sub-Compact in .40 . I would strongly recommend the Beretta over the PPK. Again this is only based on my personal experiences with the Walther.

I've always wanted the PPK... right up until I shot one. Hell, I still want one just because of the coolness factor, but would I carry one ? nope.

Don't have any experience with this particular Beretta, but I have several others and like them.

I owned a PPK, cool looking gun with the whole James Bond Style and everything. Shot it a few times, never liked it. Like it was said above I always went away with a damaged hand from the slide. I sold it for more then I paid for it because someone just had to have it and made me an offer more then I paid so down the road it went . . . I warned him that it wasn't a shooter and that he wouldn't like it before he bought it but he just had to have it . . . . . Well, He sold it 2 months later for the same reasons I did..

PPK was a PITA for me. Really picky with ammo and most of the FT* acronyms.
Just got a used PX4 Compact and love it.

Personally, I think that Beretta is ugly. PPK just looks good.
380 is not that much more than 9mm, if at all.
I've had no issues shooting the PPK, never bit me. Feels good in my hand. I like the DA/SA with the hammer drop safety.
