    Default GSG-5 SBR clarification

If i throw a folding stock or sliding stock on a GSG-5, is it considered a SBR?

How does PA classify SBR? is it overall body length? a friend in MO says they count it when the stock is fully extended.

    Thanks

If you put a stock on the pistol version then yes it is an SBR. SBR is a federal term with specs that remain the same from state to state. Rifle with a barrel less than 16" would be your problem. IMHO it is not worth spending the $200 to SBR a 22.

Ok yeah I figured it is SBR if I throw any stock on the pistol version.

But if I get the rifle version, with the 16" barrel, is it ok to put collapsible or folding stock on it? or does that push the rifle into the SBR category again? of course when I say SBR I mean NFA type weapon.

You need to maintain 2 things:

Overall Length of the rifle and Barrel Length.

Overall Length needs to stay at least 26" ... If your barrel meets the requirements and your OAL meets the requirements then you are good-to-go.

Also, keep in mind that you measure with the stock fully extended. And as sluggie mentioned above, NFA items have Federal requirements / specification which apply to all states that would allow an SBR.

Well, we all know the old saying about opinions... not to mention that they add absolutely ZERO to this thread in this case.

I'm pretty sure that the man has handled money at one point or another in his lifetime.

If he has the money and wants to do it, who cares?

thanks guys. yeah im right with you there. this is a glorified airsoft gun. Im not gonna waste money on the SBR. Maybe if I get pistol version. then get the GEMTECH suppressor and a stock. but first things first. GSG-5 rifle comes first.

Check out the SWR Spectre can while you're at it. Great suppressor and is F/A rated in case you get the itch later on down the road. Ya never know.

My neighbor just bought a Gemtech and it is nice. Side by side with my Warlock it's hard to tell the difference. Lower cost than SWR too.

    Fun stuff.
