Other then capacity in a semi auto it has none even over the .357 magnum.

None at all over a .41 magnum.

True 10mm Auto loads will outperform the .357 magnum but you have to use full moon clips for positive ejection of the spent cases. Unless your heavily invested on 10mm Auto, don't bother.

Comparable defenseive loads in both calibers are extremely close. Out of a 4” barrel 10mm will have slightly under 100 FPS more in velocity dumping its energy faster with less penetration. .357 will penetrate further with a comparable wound track.

The advantages to 10mm is when you get into the heavy grain bullets that reloaders and boutique ammo companies offer. In a revolver 10mm offers little advantage unless your a collector or already invested in the 10mm cartridge.

No, I am not going to bother. Not that I don't think 10mm is a great caliber, and very versatile, but if I was going to get into a .40 caliber revolver, it would be 41 Magnum. The 10mm in a 6 shot revolver makes no sense, as it is only marginally better then 357 Magnum on paper, and probably not practically better, 180 grain 357 Magnum rounds will penetrate very deeply. The great advantage and appeal to 10mm is that it is a very powerful auto-loader cartridge.

I had to bite into the 10mm market with a 1911, but this has me scratching my head as well.

According to what I see on "Ballistics by the inch" - inch for inch assuming a 4 inch barrel, a .357 is averaging ~700 ft/lbs vs a 10mm which ~600 ft/lbs. At the very best they are the same.

Ammunition availability, and, as mentioned above, moon clips.

Also, you can have the cylinders bored out for 10mm Magnum. Then you are able to shoot a cartridge that's a little better than .41 Magnum...and just about as available.

None...unless you own 4 other 10mms and load your own. Its a great caliber that a lot of people love to hate. Why not ask the haters what advantage a 41 mag revolver has over a glock 40 mos? or a glock 20 even, if the cartridge has to jump platforms and still be comparable? Personally I wouldnt buy anything in .357 because its a tiny bit less powerfull fully loaded, It has a snappier recoil in the same sized gun, and its just another caliber to get into. While i could load a .41 to a little more performance then a 10mm its still another caliber to get into and i got 454 to cover that.

They released the Super Redhawk in 10mm late last year and now the GP100 six months later. Baby steps...
