Virginian Who Now Needs a PA Permit
Hey guys. I was wondering if someone could clear up the process for getting a NR-CCW in PA. In seemed pretty clear at first, just fill out a form and submit it (i already have a VA CCW). But the more i read into it the more questions i have.
So you have to submit to a particular county?
If so does that permit make it legal to carry in the whole state?
Can i just arbitrarily pick a county that NR friendly?
Sorry to make my first post this request for info. But this is a little annoying as i have family in PA and i'm often on the road there with my family. Apparently as of May 26(?) I'll be a criminal if i carry in PA.

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Don't forget the part about "must submit application in person"

Re: Virginian Who Now Needs a PA Permit
Aren't some counties more friendly when issuing non resident licenses? Not sure if it's still true but I've seen in here some have straight up refused.
You could always call the Sheriff's department ahead to see if they have any issues with non residents before making your drive up here.

Re: Virginian Who Now Needs a PA Permit
Ya I didn't see that until after i posted. Definitely throws a wrench in my gears since the country i usually go to in PA is marked as unknowns here: http://www.pafoa.org/counties/
I suppose that means just give it a shot though. Or i suppose i could see if any counties just over the border would issue.

Re: Virginian Who Now Needs a PA Permit
These counties are known to be friendly to non-residents:
Lackawanna, Centre, Jefferson, Venango, Mercer, Crawford, and Erie.
There are others, but off the top of my head - those stick out.
Our list at PAFOA is outdated, and only one person has access to change it. ....not me.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
