Virginian Who Now Needs a PA Permit

FWIW, be aware that *by statute*, ALL licenses are "shall issue", and as such, ALL counties are required by law to issue permits to all applicants who meet the legal requirements.

The typical non-resident shops around rather than pursuing a legal remedy to a refusal by a given sheriff, but given recent developments, and the likelihood that many Virginians will be pursuing a PA non-resident license, perhaps the VCDL would take up a challenge on the matter.

These counties are known to be friendly to non-residents:

Lackawanna, Centre, Jefferson, Venango, Mercer, Crawford, and Erie.

There are others, but off the top of my head - those stick out.

You don’t specify how your getting here but if you go up and east Berks is good. 20 minuets or less depending on the line.
