    Default Pennsylvania Sheriffs' Association?

    Hi all-

I moved to Pennsylvania three years ago, got my carry permit in through the Northampton County Sheriff's office, and eventually moved to Monroe county last year.

I have never had any dealings directly with Sheriff Todd Martin or any of his deputies, with the exception of the CLEO notification from a Form 4 I sent last year.

Now, all of a sudden, I get an envelope from Sheriff Todd Martin at the Pennsylvania Sheriffs' Association with a membership application.

I can only surmise that he got my name and mailing address from the Form 4 since my significant other didn't get one and she is also on the deed.

What exactly is the PSA and what benefits come from it? It's only $25 for an annual membership, and I'm normally very supportive of First Responders.

This just feels odd. I inform him that I'm buying an SBR and months later I get an envelope effectively asking for money. It just feels like a bit of tit-for-tat now.

Thoughts? Or am I overthinking this one?
    Your neighborhood friendly candyman, Tim

Your name could have gotten on the mailing list any which way.
While anything is possible, it probably has nothing to do with your specific situation.
Supporting police/sheriff associations is just a generic way of showing support for your local LEOs.
There is no specific direct benefit for donating money to these groups.
Often the calls and mailings come from 3rd party companies that do all kinds of fundraising even if they claim to be LEOs or whatever.
Donating is just a way of saying you guys do a good job, have a beer on me.

Are you registered to Vote? Is your significant other registered? This is also how you get picked for Jury duty in my county.

I got one from Sherriff Mullen today.
Now, for an additional $5, I can also get a license plate.

    I'm thinking about it.
I wonder if a LEO saw this plate and the infraction wasn't too bad, would it possibly be enough to let it go or get a warning instead of a ticket.
I haven't been stopped but once in 15 years for a registration sticker out dated.
    Guy let me slide.

That's 2 boxes of ammo or contributing to additional training for them. I'll probly send it.

If you want to show your support, take some food to the station for your local officers.

We both are... both updated our addresses the same day when we moved. The only thing that we have different is that I have sent in CLEO notification where she hasn't.

I agree with this. Its always nice to leave a card with the food incase one shift doesn't eat, AKA destroy all of the food. I hate to admit it but if we didn't know who left food, very often it was tossed out. One lady baked for us all of the time. She would tape her name and number on the bottom of the plates. Her food never lasted long.

If you order right now will they double the offer if you just pay a separate handling fee?
