Default concealed carry in school used as church

I'm a new member to this site and have a question I hope someone can shed some light on. On Sunday mornings our church congregation meets in a local middle school. We pay for the use of the auditorium, cafeteria, 6 classrooms and a storage closet to keep church items secured during the week. We have "exclusive" use of the building at this time. Am I permitted to carry a concealed handgun when the building is being used as a church at this time or does this still fall under the no firearms in a school rule? Thanks

I don’t know for sure. Recently prosecuters have shied away from trying people for carrying firearms in schools because of the other lawful purpose clause. But I can’t say if the DA in your area would prosecute or not. I am not sure if it being a church would play a role or not. Hopefully someone can give a better more complete answer.

Seems like a legit question to me. I would want to know the same thing in the situation since I like to carry anywhere I legally can.

I seen them do this in NJ. They rented the elementary school while the church was being built.

Ok, you might be right. Just so sick of first time posters with their outlandish scenarios looking for us to come up with loopholes in the law.

To the OP........NO, you can't carry in a school building just because there are no kids there.

I suspect that they're leftist trolls, so avoid responding to questionable "first posts" that smell like traps.

This is the kind of quote I was talking about. I am have a strong suspicion the OP is a troll...........If he is he must be feeling all tingly inside because he just got someone on this forum to advocate something illegal.

    Don't feed people like this.
