WTK: who hunts with a S&W 460 mag

I am planning to purchase a S&W 460 pistol for PA Deer and out of state hog hunting. I need to decide ona barrel length of 8 3/8, 10 1/2 or 12.

What barrel length do you use?

Hunting with one tomorrow with a scope. I have the 8-3/8 one and it’s more than enough. It has enough weight where the recoil isn’t out of control. I shot 100 yards accurately with the iron sights. I wouldn’t suggest getting the larger one unless you want to put a bipod on it.

I have the Performance Center with the 12 inch barrel and tanker brake. Wears a 8x scope. Got a doe at 337 yards 2 years ago. Makes a big hole. Btw the 460 has about 10ft of drop at 400yrds if you got a 100 zero. Shot it off a bipod and benched.

The bolt action pistol barely visible in the background is a Rem 700cp in 308. That's next years new deer gun.
