So what happens now. I am sure in a week or two SOMEONE from Pa will be stopped in Va carrying. Will they be instantly be arrested charged with a felony?

Will they actually be convicted and go to jail?

What's the process for the non res VA permit, is it similar to the FL process?

To the best of my recollection the process is similar to getting a non-resident Florida license. It's a little pricey but it's worth it to me. Luckily I've had one for several years now. It beats trying to explain by the side of the road at night how VA is supposed to honor a PA LTCF when PA won't recognize a VA permit, and the whole concept of reciprocity.

Unfortunately, the odds are 99 and 44/100% sure that anybody who pulls me over won't be you. That's why I have enough permits to cover me in 37 states!

This whole episode reinforces my belief that you should obtain a non-resident carry permit from every state you do a lot of traveling in, if one is available. It can save a lot of potential grief.

I just saw this on York 43 news and confirmed it on the Attorney General's web site. As of May 16, 2018, PA is terminating the reciprocity agreement with Virginia. Luckily it is possible to get a non-resident carry permit from Virginia by mail. Just wanted to spread the news so all of you can watch your step until you can get a Virginia permit.

What BS. Didn't PA just restore reciprocity, like two years ago? Both my kids live there, since that was where they grew up, and moved back to. I only visit once or twice a year, so no big deal, I guess. Getting too old for that drive, and the damn turnpike costs, which have gotten outrageous.
