Cool badge number. Works even if standing on his head. Wondering aloud...is one allowed to pick his badge number or is it issued? (Kinda like a vanity plate.) Carson???

The numbers are issued randomly. If a recruit has a family member that was once on, they can put a request in for that number if it is not issued. I find it best to have a nondescript badge number An old friend of mine had the four digit number that signifies a dead body. He never lived that down. I am not sure if they issued 302, but that would be cool to have.

If you get killed on duty they retire your badge. Since Ramsey, if you get arrested for corruption also. Two things I hope to avoid.

I did find it very comical that in the initial posts and tweets about the incident, PPD called the handgun a GLOCK even though the gun pictured clearly has S&W M&P Shield markings. A citizen had to correct them on Twitter.
Apparently, just like the public thinks every semi auto hand gun is a Glock, so does PPD Public Affairs

There is a valid reason for this.

I'm not sure why the officer posed for a photo with the rifle and handgun but it's probably a good thing he arrived when he did.
Both of you are correct. While this is POOFA, the thread title does not reflect the seriousness of what was occurring.

Just to clarify for context. Are you saying this like a guy would respond to a pic of a sexy lady "Oh, I'd do that", or you would pose like that?

I'm thinking that Carson has a hot nut for 12 year old kids carrying AR's in Philthytown.
