I carry pens. They can be powerful. But I also carry guns in case I have to defend against an armed criminal. Pens are not as effective then.

I also saw a news story saying Dicks` was phasing out all hunting items and replacing with more sports equipment like gloves and soccer balls. I guess they hope the uber rich suburban soccer mom crowds will bail them out.
