I wonder how many "destroyed rifles" are finding their way home with the people who are destroying them.

For those who don't know, they canceled orders and refused to deliver rifles to customers who had paid for them. Then they gave those customers something like a $100 "we're sorry" gift card and put all the evil rifles in storage until their new store (Field and Stream) opened, and took those very same rifles that they fucked people out of buying and offered them up for sale in the new store.
At the time, those rifles were somewhere around $450 - the ones they refused to deliver. Also, due to panic buying, those people who had PAID FOR a $450 rifle and were denied ownership, were now faced with paying $2,000+ for an AR15 elsewhere because the prices had skyrocketed.

There's a special place in hell for those bastards.
and when dicks did sell them, was it not for 2-3 times that original $450???
    Let's go Brandon!!!

I don't know, but it certainly wasn't the low price initially offered by Dick's.
The "$450" (I don't recall the exact price) rifles were a promotional sale item, so there's almost no chance that they resold them for the original discount price.

They took the orders on Black Friday for $600 or whatever. When they cancelled the deliveries just before Christmas Eve, new AR's were selling for $2500 - $3000 on Gunbroker. Merry F'ing Christmas!

Dick's is not doing enough. They still have on display plenty of inventory in AR15 styled Airsoft and BB guns. What kind of message does this send to the children? Dicks needs to destroy more shit!!

My guess is that "destroying" a rifle means stripping it, destroying the lower receiver, and then selling the rest to a salvage house that will repackage the parts and sell them to people building from 80% receivers..

Destroying inventory for the purpose of making a statement is bad business practice IMO. As one who tinkers in the stock market I would never consider betting on such a company, what other foolish business moves are they making? I don't think that the loony lefties are going to shop there instead of Amazon so it can't be considered an expense as advertising.

Is the reporter reading the comments about investors...

The new gun sales policy at Dick's Sporting Goods had backing from the Sisters of Mercy

Unfortunately, they seem to limit your ability to read more than two articles without a subscription and I had closed the tab I had open earlier, so I can't paste any text.

"Sisters of Mercy" are an investment group or something.
