Default Warning: ScotchBrite copper srcubbers are not copper

Grabbed what appeared to be copper scrubbing pads at the food market and threw them in the gun cleaning kit, planning to use them for removing lead. Looked the package tonight and realized it said COPPER in large letters and coated scrubbing pads in smaller letters. They are steel. A magnet attracts them.

If you wrap a bore brush with copper chore boy or similar to cut through leaded barrels and bores, be careful of what you buy.

Honestly I never knew anyone who used them for anything other than smoking crack. Job hazard I suppose! Good thing you noticed that. The outcome could have ruined one or more of your rifle bores.

Yep. That and the little glass tube. Always fun listening to why they have those items

Pardon my white, middle-aged, suburban male privilege ignorance, but for what purpose does the copper scrubbie serve?

It is used as a filter, within the tube. Even if you are smoking crack, you want to do so healthy and filter out impurities or the baking soda.

Ah, ok. So there's a baking soda component in the process, too? This whole crack pipe business seems awfully complicated. Glass tubes, copper wire, baking soda...it's a wonder any of them can figure out how to actually smoke it.
