    Default Turtle Creek Trout Stocking

I know this is in the hunting forum but for those of you who hunt trout, here is a update from the fish commission.

Turtle Creek, if you have fished this stream.in.the past or plan to on opening day, will NOT be stocked tomorrow as scheduled.

The stream has been deemed unsuitable this year due to the heavy rain and snowmelt causing mines to fill and leach into the stream with excessive amounts of aluminum.

    Stocking was scheduled for tomorrow.

No link. I was called by a Fish Commission officer today as I was volunteering to help float stock this creek tomorrow..

I fished T Creek a few years and did pretty well. There are some nice sections on that creek that are pretty isolated and make you forget you are in a urban area. This year I will probably head up to the Erie camp and see if I can hook up with any remaining steelhead.

If you fish Elk from 79 south to the shit plant, you will catch stocked brownies and leftover steel......Plenty of fish still in there. A steelhead on a 5'0 ultralite setup is big fun.
