Ive heard about academy sports stores in other states on other forums and found their web site while looking for some fishing gear and a seat for my Jon boat , Nice site have shooting gear and ammo also best of all all the items I ordered were no tax and free shipping and the shipping is fast ! I didn't buy ammo but put in my cart and it also came up for free shipping . It's worth a look if your in the market to purchase stuff for general shooting or outdoor needs .

Interesting that they appear to have "assault rifles" on their website.
I wonder if they are available in-store?

I found an article that said they removed them from shelves in 2016 after the Florida night club attack.

Most of the time they are pretty good, between the cash back sites, coupons, rebates, and free shipping you can get some pretty great deals from them. I've only had two issues with them, in high demand times, say like black friday sales, they will show something in stock, but you can't complete a checkout, and I've also placed orders only to have them cancel them a few days later. I also had an issue once where my credit card flagged the purchase as fraud and since then I've never been able to place an order with them again, for anything with any payment method. They must have something internal blocking my account, though they claim they don't. Doesn't matter if I use different browsers, checkout as a guest, paypal, other cards, etc. their system pukes when you get to the final "place the order" step. I've called them 3-4 times about it over the last year when they've had a deal and they've never been able to fix the problem, they can't even get the system to take my payment over the phone for an order. Even if they could it reduces the savings because then you miss the coupon codes and cashback site discounts which can easily be another 10-15%.
