Reloading 45lc and .38

I've used many different kinds of primers. Old ones, new ones, all the makers. I've bought bricks of ancient primers and they all worked.

They are a small part of the equation.

Ordered a reloading kit as .45lc and .38 are more pricey than 9mm.

Used to reload 30 years ago.

What are the best large pistol primers, recommendations?

There are many variables in reloading. A primer is part of those variables. I wouldn't be too worried about which primer you pick.

For a new load I usually buy what the reloading manual lists while developing that load. This reduces the variation from what they found during their work.

Once I have a load developed I start to experiment. Normally I go with what I can purchase, usually CCI.
