Ban Alcohol!

I just sent this to all my anti-gun state and U.S. legislators. (Unfortunately, that's 3 out of 4. Well maybe 4 out of 4. I think Toomey plays both ends against the middle.)

Per the CDC, alcohol use leads to approximately 88,000 deaths a year. And in 2015, 10,265 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for nearly one-third of all traffic-related deaths in the United States.

In spite of (or perhaps because of) these alarming statistics, the beer, wine and liquor industry spent $30,587,023 in 2017 on lobbying efforts with Anheuser-Busch topping the list at $7,930,000 per OpenSecret.org.

Everybody knows someone whose life was negatively impacted by the scourge of alcohol abuse. This madness must stop!

I respectfully request that you introduced legislation to ban the manufacture, importation, sale, possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the <United States or name of state as appropriate>. I fully understand we tried this once before, but we cannot side idly by and let lives continue to be ruined.

I'm curious to see what kind of replies I get. They probably have me flagged as a gun nut so will ignore me.

Even when the Government banned alcohol they were still consuming it. Laws are only as good as the people who follow them.

Government banning alcohol also made the Mafia millions. You could say, politicians created, aided and abetted criminals.
