    Default 30-06 Round

For deer, 150,165 or 180? I would think 165 has enough punch? Thinking REMINGTON EXPRESS CORE-LOKT RIFLE.

    Thoughts?

The 150's tend to open up quicker than the heavier bullets producing quicker kills. Cup and core bullets work great in this aspect. The 180's are usually designed for bigger game such as elk. As such they are a tougher bullet designed to open up slower and penetrate deeper.

I use this web site often when I'm going on a trip. The information is based on actual kills. It helps me match what I think is the perfect bullet for the game being hunted and the ranges I'm likely to encounter them.

I've been using 180gr Rem Core-Lokts in my Ruger No.1 and M77 for almost 40yrs , only because they group better than the 150 or 165.

The Rem Core-Lokt is an excellent bullet for PA whitetail or elk. "The deadliest mushroom in the woods!" the ads used to say.

    Any and all are perfect.

I use 150 grain Nosler ballistic tips but started with Rem Corelokts
Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

I've had nothing but good luck with 150 gr core lokt's. Puts them down quick. For reloads 150 gr Sierra game kings work just as well. You don't need a heavy bullet for deer out of the 06.
