Traveling in NJ with guns

When I got my driver's license in NJ, I was pulled over 21 times in my first 18 months and got two tickets.

I didn't get 21 tickets, so I'm thinking a few of them of may have been fishing expeditions.

I am referring to the picture I saw of John Ramsey's truck. If you don't know who he is look him up. He was profiled IMO, due to his Hill Billy mobile. I would love to put that Cop on a box and ask him about that case.

Don't know who John Ramsey is. I looked him up and I get tons of sites with all different sorts of John Ramseys. Looking stuff up on the internet can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

FOPA does not cover you on foot, or in the transit from car to bus/plane/spaceship.

That's why if I was transporting through NJ or any state that isn't gun friendly I keep the guns locked up in the car and I don't take busses through such states. I also would never fly out of an airport in NJ if I was transporting guns or to an airport in NJ for that matter. When transporting guns by airplane I usually use the Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown.

Hopefully I never will get in trouble for legally transporting firearms but if I do I've got insurance with US Law Shield which will set me up with some of the best lawyers and also give me lots of coverage for criminal defense costs as well as civil costs.

The OP is not suggesting that one commit a crime. He has stated that he owns property in NJ. That is fine for someone owning property in NJ and PA (I guess), and following the laws for transport of firearms between the two states.

As stated, FOPA is a defense for an arrest WHEN traveling THRU a state, which the thread title has nothing to do with, even though thru state travel is discussed in the opening post.

More power to the OP if he can, and wants to travel legally between the two states, with firearms.

As far as traveling thru states like NJ, if one is getting pulled over on a regular basis in their home state, maybe one should either correct that issue, NOT drive like an asshat, or just not travel with firearms out of state.

Exactly. And traveling through NJ might be something that you would almost have to do depending on where you're going. Lets say you're going to Maine. You would either have to go through NJ or you could take a longer route where you avoid NJ all together and go through NY but from what I know NY isn't much better.

When I go to New England, I go up to 84 and avoid the DPRNJ all together.

I doubt it's any longer time wise. NY sucks too but it's better than the communist shithole that is NJ.
