My local shop is usually within $20 of most online prices, so they get the bulk of my business. They also have good prices on used guns and are generally willing to deal with me on them. I don't buy New very often anymore, so that is always a bonus.

Try supporting the little guy every so often. If the only business they ever get is $25 transfers, you might find that nobody's left to do a transfer in the future.
So what is your local shop that you buy guns from? If they're within $20 of the online prices than buying from them might be more profitable than buying online when you add in the transfer fee.

BTW as pricey as Cabela's is with guns, I got a gun from Cabela's around Thanksgiving last year and I didn't pay a penny. How did I do it? I used my club points.

I deal with a couple. Saurers Trading in South Williamsport PA probably gets the bulk of my business. Like you said, by the time I figure in tax/transfer on an online gun, they're usually pretty close.

Tanners sports center has the cheapest gun prices I think I've ever seen for a gun shop.

I was going to ask if you got Easter Monday off, or what. You can check out Guardian Training Center whilst you're in the area.

Well, generally I buy on-line and transfer through a local FFL for $25. As much as I would like to support the small guy, I need to save money as well and support myself. I just wish people would have sympathy for me and the overhead I have and pay me more for whatever I sell to them or service provided but that aint reality bub! Capitalism is key!

I hardly ever buy from the 2 LGS in my area. They are never within $100 of online pricing and they never have what I want in stock anyways. Why would I give someone $100 when they still have to order it? I generally always go to gun.deals and have it shipped to Ft. Chambers where its a flat $25 ffl fee. I once ordered a box of 5 lowers, it was $25. I ordered 3 pistols from the same company, it was just a $25 FFL fee.
