Talk me out of a .454 Casull
Why SHOULDN'T I buy a revolver chambered in .454 Casull? It certainly wouldn't be a range gun that would see much use other than to sight in and while testing hunting loads. The ability to shoot .45 Colt is nice and would be more manageable at the range. At any rate, I fired a friend's Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley over the weekend and loved it. I like single action Rugers and could see me toting the 6.5" barreled beast while bear hunting. I use a .44 Magnum for deer and am looking for something different. I just like big and slow....well, sort of slow, well not slow at all, BIG, but you get the idea. What do you guys think? I am not set up to reload but could easily do so. Does anyone hunt with a 454?

I have 2 460's. Shot a few of 454 and 45 through it. It's a bit to handle but fun. I highly reccomend a compensated gun though. And if you dont reload its going to get expensive.
If you come to a Westie group shoot your more than welcome to put a few cylinders through my X-frame.
Hell I might even make ya a deal on my spare 460.Last edited by DucatiRon; March 26th, 2018 at 11:15 PM.

Yeah, a bit to handle but fun. I was firing one handed to prove to my buddy that the pistol wasn't going to smack him in the forehead. I have not considered the .460 route. I would have the ability to shoot all three calibers then, but the damn pistols are almost prohibitively expensive for the amount that I will use it. Damn you....now you have me thinking.

Actually according to GB my used 460 is equal to a new Ruger SBH in 454.
