Now when it comes to carrying Glocks they must be in a holster at all times the mags can go anywhere the hell you choose. All I carry is Glocks and my mags go everywhere sometimes in a holster on my belt sometimes in my front left pocket for a holster on my 511's sometimes they go in my jacket pocket sometimes they go in my sock sometimes they go under my hat depending on the circumstance of how I'm carrying and what Glock I'm caring. I have never had a problem with any of my clocks failing from pocket debris or even from mud and dirt when I'm out on the dirty ranges.

You can carry a mag loose but you have to worry about dirt, and the incorrect orientation of the mag as well as pulling it easily.

I wouldn't carry a loose mag in a pocket.
Is it going to absolutely cause a problem? Maybe not, but is certainly isn't doing anything to PREVENT a problem.

Dirt, fuzz, whatever... you have very little control over that.
Could the first round get dislodged - even slightly? Sure would be a shitty time to find out when you try using it in a hurry.

You carry a gun knowing that it's unlikely you will need it, but if you do, you NEED it to work.
Why screw around with that by doing things half-assed?

Probably pissed off a bunch of people who carry their mags that way. Oh well.
