Target World out of business?
I heard that Target World on route 309 is closing up or has already closed its doors? Is this true?

Re: Target World out of business?
Chris, Welcome aboard, a lot of good information can be found here coming from some very helpful folks. Hope you enjoy the forum and find it informative.
How long are you out of Pennsylvania? Is it possible you could be thinking of Edelman's? That business had been located on 309 in Montgomeryville but closed many many years ago.

Re: Target World out of business?
There have been rumors of Target WOrld in Chalfont closing, because oif Wawa buying the property. My neighbor works at Target World, I'll ask him next time I see him.
Just curious, but considering Target World's gun prices are frequently hundreds more than every other gun store, why would anyone actually buy from them?

Re: Target World out of business?
I shot there 2 weeks ago or so and they have nothing saying they were going out of business..
They could SERIOUSLY use some new range ventilation and lighting though, for sure.
Caa2003's Dad's friend is good friends with the owner....might get a membership there if they stay open........
Isn't wawa across the street from target world, btw? I know there is a tire shop next to it, but isn't it in its own building with property to the left/right of it? I know there's a driveway on the 1 side of their building.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty

Re: Target World out of business?
I left PA about six years ago, I sure do miss all the gunshops out there, lots of places to shop and shoot with a cast of characters behind every counter. I have to drive two hours to Billings MT to find some variety, they just opened a Sportsmans Wharehouse and next year Cabelas will open. There is a Scheels in Billings but their prices are way too high. I remember Edelmans on 309, thats probably what I was thinking about when I mentioned Target World. There was ann Edelmans on the Roosevelt Blvd around Levick Street in NE Philly and there prices were reasonable...too bad the owner was such a crook, drove themselves out of business.

Re: Target World out of business?
I loved Edelman's, they had great prices from what I remember. But you're right, total crooks, I remember hearing of several scams running out of there.

Re: Target World out of business?
Target world has now been reported to me as a anti-self-defense gun store.
This is what has been reported to me as of yesterday..
They no longer allow silloettes that they sold me last year to be used?!
They also do not allow you to shoot anything other than a .22 cal unless you've been there before.
They also scan your drivers license into their database when you go to shoot.
I'll be investigating these allegations are true will report back.

Re: Target World out of business?
The last time I was there you could:
Use any paper target you want.
Shoot any standard pistol caliber or .22 rifle. They did ask the guy that was with me if he had been there before, when he said no they asked him to draw a picture a handgun site.
They hold you DL while you are in the range, I did not see anyone entering it in a database.
