Need some optics help
Well, I won a Ruger Precision Rifle (.308 Win) and now have to add optics. Need the forums' assistance on ideas. I will be, to start, using this just for long range target shooting. I know it will need a good scope but I don't want to break the bank to get things started. Specs wise, I was looking at 6-24x50, probably mil-dot. Just not sure what direction to take. Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Need some optics help
Don't really want to set a price range but I'll say not over $600 at this time. Not looking to put a scope on that costs more than the rifle Want something to get me started and if I end up not being interested something that will be fairly easy to sell.

I've had good luck with Burris optics before. Here's one in your price range.

Re: Need some optics help
For around $600...take a look at the Athlon Ares...lots of great features for the money. I have the Argos and I'm happy with it and the Ares has better turrets.
BTW, that is an awesome rifle to win. Bummer it wasn't a 6.5CM, but you could swap out barrels as well.
