Most people probably use the term God-given as that is part of their belief system. But actually, it is a natural right. It is part of nature's law or our 'natures'. Some might call it survival instinct. This is inherent in us as humans (and other animals/insects/beings possess it). We human beings were here before the governments of this world. We are not meant to be enslaved by it but to live freely.

The summary about the Second Amendment is that we all have fight or flight responses. You can not outlaw that survival instinct out of our natures through legislative process. It makes about as much sense as handing down a judicial punishment forbidding someone to urinate or defecate for 30 days!

Look at the U.K. where you are no longer allowed to use violence to defend yourself for any reason. You will be arrested for it! How ridiculous and unfortunate. If command economies fail, how can we expect to effect social change by legislation that goes against our very natures or instincts? If you believe in a God, this would be an affront to Him/Her. If you are a non-believer, it is an ignorant affront to our natures.

You can blame no one else but yourself if you corner a fearful animal and get bitten! Bad dog! I don't think so.

Don't know but if that's how it works, let's use it: I am now "the animal guy" and though a lifetime member of PETA, I say that animals should be eaten and their pelts turned into fur coats. Just like that, I am an authority.

Except, if you did that PETA would quickly come out and say that you're not a member and denounce you completely. Not so much in the NRA.

well the only requirement to become an NRA Life Member is a credit card. I bet there are more than a few Bloomberg plants on the membership lists.
