Default AMGOA reporting PA license scan by police informs of LTCF

Pennsylvania people. We learned something yesterday that is troubling.

The new PA driver's license now relates back to a database that INCLUDES whether or not you have a PA license to carry.

It was brought to our attention when a friend was pulled over last week. She gave the officer her drivers license which officer ran. When he returned to her car he asked if she had a firearm on her to which she replied 'no, why?' The officer explained that they can now see if a person has a LTCF just by running their license.

After some phone calls it was confirmed that PSP turned over all the data on those with a PA LTCF to NCIC, which included it in the information provided for drivers licenses.

Once again PSP have overstepped their authority and you should be mad!

The only way to stop this from happening again is to call your reps and demand they bring SB224 (Eliminate PICS bill) to the floor for a vote. We have it on good authority that it will pass the House and more than likely pass the Senate.

Anyone else seen or heard of this?

How is SB224 going to eliminate the fact that a police officer will be provided with information whether or not the driver he or she pulled over has a LTCF? It appears this bill will only to eliminate PICs.

this is bad.. very very bad. Won't be long before we hear stories of PA residents travelling through MD, NY or other commie states, getting pulled over, removed from vehicle and vehicle torn apart looking for a firearm that said driver already stated they did not have with them.

Has happened to a couple of folks from FL in MD.. MD claims LTCF info is probable cause for a search

Pretty sure this would constitute a “gun owner registry”, would it not?
