No, because not all gun owners have a LTCF. But all LTCF holders have a firearm. xD

All LTCF holders may have a firearm, or may not. It's not a requirement.

A remedy would be to lobby the state house and senate to create and pass a law regulating the use of LTCF information. It would need to ban the automatic release of LTCF information when a driver license check is made, and limit the firearms carry license data use only for verifying if someone in public is in possession of a concealed firearm has a LTCF. Lots of luck to get the governor to sign it.

The NCIC (national criminal instant check) system is a federal database that virtually any law enforcement agency can access. Not necessarily any LEO as some agencies get access for more employees than others.

At my federal agency only 10-15% (my personal guess) of us have access to the system.

Any LEO who can run your drivers license can see your LTCF.




As soon as a drivers license is ran, the LTCF info is brought up automatically.

I have to wonder why the information about Law Abiding Citizens was uploaded into the National Crime Information Center. I find it offensive that I'm considered a criminal because I'm licensed to carry a firearm.

It actually was not uploaded into NCIC. So don’t be so offended. BTW NCIC actually includes many things not criminal.

The gist is, LCTF info is a CLEAN-level transaction, NOT an NCIC transaction. Out of state agencies have no access to this information.
