Default What are YOUR Training Goals for 2018?

What are YOUR Training Goals for 2018?

I'd like to get a discussion going based on that question. I would hope you can say:

    1. What training are you taking(or have taken so far? (e.g. basic first aid, long range pistol shooting, tactical shotgun, legal, etc.)
    2. Where are you taking it and MORE importantly WHY did you chose that particular outfit? (e.g. like the trainer's credentials, good location, etc.)
    3. What do you expect to get out of it?
    4. What's next?

All I have on the drawing board is:

    1. Tactical first aid.
    2. Looking for the next available Andy Snyder led training because I've seen ads for his training at my local shops for a long time (so I figure he must not be bad, also looks like he has a good resume).
    3. I expect to be able to carry a basic first aid kit like the Adventure Medical Trauma Kit, without having to just pretend I know how to use it.
    4. Looking for a decent tactical shotgun course under $2,000. Still like the shotgun better for home defense than an AR.

Shoot at least twice a week, rifle and pistol.
Double my ammo and reloading supplies.
    Lose 5 pounds (again).

Next year my family is planning on going to Europe on vacation.
Since most attacks over there seem to be knife related I started practicing with a friend who has the title of Kyoshi in exchange for some restoration help on his Jeep.

I'm working towards shooting at an A class level in USPSA. Just training on my own and shooting at least once a week.

informal training just to become a better shot. I also try to elevate my heart rate so I can get used to shooting while under some stress. I know I can handle most things mentally but physical stress takes work to bet. I am completely self taught and for the most part always will be. I would like to try one of the shooting games at some point.

Don't wait anymore. Go to a match, they are a blast. IDPA Nd USPSA are awesome. IDPA takes a little less gear.

I think I will make it a goal to watch at least one match sometime this year.

I'm going to work more on my short game from 50 yds in, as well as my putting.

I am attending a Glock Advanced Armorer's course next month.
I will also be attending either a 3 day NLEFIA (National Law Enforcement Firearm Instructions Association) Master Instructor Course or a Glock Instructor's Workshop. That's a start. There are some other things on the horizon, but they are going to cost. Let's see if I can pony up the cash before I discuss them here.
