Shield 45 vs Shield 45 2.0
I bought a Smith & Wesson M&P 45 Shield last year and evidently it's now offered in the 2.0 line of M&Ps.
Is there a difference between the two models? Or is it just a rebranding? The Shield 45 just came out 2(?) years ago so I'm not sure if the 2.0 features were already standard when it came out.
I read that the other 2.0s have a crisper trigger pull, which was one of my complaints on my old M&P 45c. Can anyone confirm if this is the case for the 45 Shield?Last edited by SamNemo; March 12th, 2018 at 11:43 PM.

Re: Shield 45 vs Shield 45 2.0
I've been reading and watching a lot on the shield 45 recently, from what I understand the 45 incorporated the 2.0 updates when released. I'm not sure what would be different besides the 2.0 branding. Sorry, can't really confirm anything.
A friend has the 2.0 in 9mm and I've dry fired it. Seems like a nice trigger.
I'd like a shield 45 someday. What do you think of yours?

Re: Shield 45 vs Shield 45 2.0
The 2.0 came out with an aggressive grip and front cuts on the slide. Also, with the 2.0 out it dropped retail value on the original shield by $100.

Re: Shield 45 vs Shield 45 2.0
I assumed the .45 shield already had the 2.0 upgrades but if the 2.0 update is a better trigger and the original drops $100 I’ll probably be buying the original.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

Re: Shield 45 vs Shield 45 2.0
The .45 shield was not upgraded. The 2.0 (gen 2 however you want to call it) has the new pistol features.
- Low bore axis
- 18 degree grip angle
- 4 interchangeable grips ( with new aggressive grip as well).
- Aggressive grip
- Better reset
- Corrosion resistant finish.

I just chatted with Smith and Wesson customer service. She said the 45 has been considered 2.0 since it’s release. They just started engraving 2.0 on the slide.

Re: Shield 45 vs Shield 45 2.0
I just purchased a Shield 45 and it is identical to the S&W Shield M2.0 45acp home page.
